Rebel Garden stands as a temporary exhibit within Triennale Bruges 2024, centering on pressing issues like climate change. This exhibition delves into our future and the imperative to steward our planet more responsibly. Embracing the challenge, we've crafted approximately 20 info booths for this exhibit, primarily using reclaimed materials.
Our process commenced by cataloging surplus wood from Musea Bruges. We then meticulously assembled these remnants into new full board materials. These salvaged panels were combined with repurposed MDF, sourced from the Belgian Art & Design Fair. Complementing these, we integrated recycled plastic boards and salvaged wooden beams, recuperated from pallets thanks to Labeur.
Hitch'ed together using 90° Hitch-tools on poles and 4-ax Hitch-tools on poles, these temporary info booths will stand strong for the next five months. Following their tenure, as per our practice, all components will remain available for future projects.
Check out the expo in Bruges until September 2024 at Sint Jans Hospitaal, Groeninge Museum, and Gruuthuuse Museum.

Collaborating with our favorite Hitch ambassador, Gwentibold, a social designer from Brussels. We were tasked with crafting 20 modular desks for Amplo's freshly designed office spaces. These desks are designed to be both easy to assemble and durable, ensuring seamless mobility in the event of office relocation.
Partnering with the talented Katrien Vanderlinden, we crafted a temporary canvas backdrop for her Past Lives expo at Edmond Brussels. Our approach emphasized sustainability and versatility by opting for standardized dimensions and a durable varnish finish. This ensures maximum reusability for future events, extending the lifespan of our rented materials.
HITCH graces the pages of the Ivago magazine with an interview and cover feature, spotlighting Esther Laga's journey in the realms of upcycling, reusability, and the circular economy in Gent. From her laureate status at Circuit Circulair in 2022 to the growth of Hitch-tools from a school project to a thriving enterprise, Esther designs "connectors" that transcend mere reclaimed materials, fostering circular and reusable constructions. Together with Sophie De Somere, founder of ONBETAALBAAR, they champion a clear message: waste is a resource.
